Project Adventure, collaborates with Indus School of Learning to introduce Innovative Adventure-based Training Programs in the Indian Market.

Project Adventure (PA), an international training organisation, specializing in Adventure Based experiential learning has entered the Indian market by collaborating with the Indus School of Leadership (ISL).The institution was established in 1971 and has over 4 decades of experience in research & application of adventure based training programs .It has introduced many innovative concepts such as managing trauma through adventure based training. This therapy has been used successfully to treat trauma victims of the Japanese Tsunami, which took place on March 11, 2011.

“We are thrilled to be associated with ISL, an institution with expertise in developing leadership competencies through an experiential learning model’’, said Larry Childs, Senior Trainer at PA. “We apply a unique methodology to appropriately challenge individuals & groups in ways that accelerate learning. Our emphasis on research and strong commitment to curricula differentiates us from other organisations. Programs are reviewed to identify measurable outcomes, the research is used to modify existing programs and develop new ones. The Indian market needs have been studied by experts at PA, and we will be introducing customized training programs’’

“In India, today Emotional quotient (EQ) among managers is being considered on par with IQ. A manager with a good EQ is more positive and productive. Hence an increasing need is being felt in India, for training programs which can effectively enhance the EQ level of employees. Our objective through this collaboration is to provide the latest international training platforms, to the corporate sector’’, said Lt. General Arjun Ray, CEO Indus Trust.

“A recent study by Assocham*, found that a meagre 10% of the B-school graduates are actually employable’’, elaborated Ray. “Several studies have indicated a similar trend among engineering graduates as well. These graduates possess sound theoretical knowledge; however they lack competencies such as problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. Through these adventure based programs, ISL seeks to create ‘industry ready’ graduates”.

ISL’s leadership development philosophy is based on the ability to lead one-self and then others. It focuses on development of competencies such as vision and goal setting, creativity, problem- solving, interpersonal skills and the capability for reflection. ISL is the only institution in the country, which has a unique learning tool known as the Discovery Course, which has been certified by ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology, USA). The Discovery Course is a 60 foot tall high rope course, which pushes an individual beyond his comfort zone and facilitates the development of courage, resilience and positive risk taking. ISL customizes its packages according to the clients’ needs and its trainers are from the army as well as premier B- schools.
